The iPhone 5 built for 4G is COMING!!!

Lots of speculation is going around on the new iPhone 5... in HD!!

Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 and 5 and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iphone to their network. The new iPhone 5 is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat on 3g and 4g (no longer restricted to WiFi only), face recognition and extreme downloading. (List of possible features below). Just when you think there is nothing else to come up with, more and more and more technology comes out. And it is on the rise, and not just at Apple, Inc!

This iPhone 5 will have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better "still" images when taking pictures, AND it will make multi-tasking a breeze.

There are a few networks working on building a 4G network. T-mobile would be a likely carrier since they are GSM already. Sprint has a 4G network already... AT&T and Verizon Wireless are in the beginning stages. There are talks of Verizon Wireless getting iPhone sometime in 2010 but it looks like they will get it for sure in 2011 when the new iPhone 5 comes out.

Whether or not it will be 4G will be up to them!... can they build in time? They will definitely have the 3G version of iPhone, but with the new iPhone 5 (4g speeds) coming out, will they compete?! Regardless, there is much anticipation on how many people will leave AT&T for Verizon Wireless because of AT&T's lagging on app restrictions like Slingplayer and Google Voice and Skype (on 4g network, not Wi-Fi).

AT&T's restrictions have caused the percentage of people that are JailBreaking their iPhones to rise since Jail Breaking usually comes with Cydia which is the app store for jail broken phones. Most of the applications, ringtones, and even iphone themes!...are free with Cydia. Winterboard is part of the download, and it very easily add's the changes to your phone so you dont have to figure how to do it on your own...it is VERY automated.

The Palm Pre on Sprint and HTC EVO (Sprint now offering a 4G network) has made an attempt at being competitive with iPhone and Blackberry...and it seems they are making head way, although with the iPhone 4 released and the iPhone 5 on the way, they are sure to lose. Oh ya, the Blackberry Torch? = Nice try... but that browser is NOT full HTML.

iPhone 5 looks promising in terms of being sleek, packed with new hardware and finally less restrictions. Very exciting.

Tongue Drive System to Operate Computers

Scientists developed a new revolutionary system to help individuals with disabilities to control wheelchairs, computers and other devices simply by using their tongue.

Engineers at the Georgia Institute of Technology say that a newtechnology called Tongue Drive system will be helpful to individuals with serious disabilities, such as those with severe spinal cord injuries and will allow them to lead more active and independent lives.

Individuals using a tongue-based system should only be able to move their tongue, which is especially important if a person has paralyzed limbs. A tiny magnet, only a size of a grain of rice, is attached to an individual's tongue using implantation, piercing or adhesive. This technology allows a disabled person to use tongue when moving a computer mouse or a powered wheelchair.

Scientists chose the tongue to control the system because unlike the feet and the hands, which are connected by brain through spinal cord, the tongue and the brain has a direct connection through cranial nerve. In case when a person has a severe spinal cord injure or other damage, the tongue will remain mobile to activate the system. "Tongue movements are also fast, accurate and do not require much thinking, concentration or effort." said Maysam Ghovanloo, an assistant professor in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The motions of the magnet attached to the tongue are spotted by a number of magnetic field sensors installed on a headset worn outside or an orthodontic brace inside the mouth. The signals coming from the sensors are wirelessly sent to a portable computer that placed on a wheelchair or attached to an individual's clothing.

The Tongue system is developed to recognize a wide array of tongue movements and to apply specific movements to certain commands, taking into account user's oral anatomy, abilities and lifestyle."The ability to train our system with as many commands as an individual can comfortably remember is a significant advantage over the common sip-n-puff device that acts as a simple switch controlled by sucking or blowing through a straw," said Ghovanloo.

The Tongue Drive system is touch-free, wireless and non-invasive technology that needs no surgery for its operation.

During the trials of the system, six able-bodied participants were trained to use tongue commands to control the computer mouse. The individuals repeated several motions left, right, up and down, single- and double-click to perform computer mouse tasks.

The results of the trials showed 100 percent of commands were accurate with the response time less than one second, which equals to an information transfer rate of approximately 150 bits per minute.

Scientists also plan to test the ability of the system to operate by people with severe disabilities. The next step of the research is to develop software to connect the Tongue Drive system to great number of devices such as text generators, speech synthesizers and readers. Also the researchers plan to upgrade the system by introducing the standby mode to allow the individual to eat, sleep or talk, while prolonging the battery life.

MeeGo

View of the MeeGo windows

Introduction to MeeGo

MeeGo is a Linux-based open source mobile operating system project which was announced at Mobile world Congress in February 2010 by Intel and Nokia in a joint press conference. Its aim is to merge the efforts of Intel on Moblin and of Nokia on Maemno into one project. It is hosted by the Linux Foundation. According to Intel, MeeGo was developed because Microsoft did not offer comprehensive Windows 7 support for

theAtom processor. Novell also play a large part in the MeeGo effort, working with the Linux Foundation on their build infrastructure and official MeeGo products, and MeeGo is increasingly using more of Novell's technology that was originally

developed for openSUSE, (including openSUSE Build Service, ZYpp for package management, and other system management tools).

MeeGo is primarly designed to act as an operating system for hardware platforms such as netbooks / entry-level desktops, tablet computers, mobile computing and communications devices, in-vehicle infotainment devices, connected-TVs, IPTV-boxes, smart phones, and other embedded systems.

The MeeGo phone

Launch of MeeGo

· Global leaders Intel Corporation and Nokia merge Moblin and Maemo to create MeeGo*, a Linux-based software platform that will support multiple hardware architectures across the broadest range of device segments, including pocketable mobile computers, netbooks, tablets, mediaphones, connected TVs and in-vehicle infotainment systems.

· MeeGo offers the Qt application development environment, and builds on the capabilities of the Moblin core operating system and reference user experiences. Using Qt, developers can write once to create applications for a variety of devices and platforms, and market them through Nokia's Ovi Store and Intel AppUpSM Center.

· MeeGo will be hosted by the Linux Foundation and governed using the best practices of the open source development model. The first release of MeeGo is expected in the second quarter of 2010 with devices launching later in the year.

· Nokia and Intel expect MeeGo to be adopted widely by global device manufacturers, network operators, semiconductor companies, software vendors and developers.

MeeGo Hosted by the Linux Foundation

The MeeGo software platform will be hosted by the Linux Foundation as a fully open source project, encouraging community participation in line with the best practices of the open source development model. Intel and Nokia invite the respective members of Maemo.org and Moblin.org to join the combined community atMeeGo.com, as well as encouraging wider participation from the communications, computing and related industries. Developers can begin writing applications for MeeGo in Qt immediately. The first release of MeeGo is targeted for the second quarter of this year.

· Media materials, including a Webcast replay, can be found atwww.intel.com/pressroom/intel-nokia and www.nokia.com/press.

Latest news about Meego

Despite the iOS, Android and soon-to-come Windows Phone 7 onslaughts, Intel and Nokia’s MeeGo OS won’t be powering publicly available smart phones until the first half of 2011, according to an Intel executive, seeing the same kind of delays plaguing many other tablet and Smartphone competitors.

Another setback troubled Nokia’s Smartphone plans. Rumors are that the MeeGo devices vice president Ari Jaaksi had left the company a week ago. No reason was given for his departure but it was said that the company’s plans related to having a MeeGo device ready to ship by the end of this year would not be affected. Nokia’s only self-made device known to be in works now is the N9.

An updated MeeGo was promised before the end of 2010. This statement however does not necessarily mean that the device would be shipping, but could simply mean the company would show the platform’s latest state or commit to a 2011 timeframe.

The conservatism towards smart phones caused most of Nokia’s recent problems in the phone arena. By adopting touch screens only on the past year, Nokia has faced a lot of problems such as frustrated developers, content only recently unified in the Ovi Store and, last but not least, modern Smartphone features missing, such as fast processors and capacitive multi-touch screens. By systematically neglecting the US market, Nokia has lost a lot of opportunities, but this could change with the recently unveiled N8 for AT&T.

MeeGo is Nokia’s joint development with Intel and is intended to modernize the high-end Nseries of Nokia phones by equipping

them with modern multi-touch interfaces and high levels of multitasking.

Reviews on MeeGo testing

The MeeGo project is happy to announce "Day 1" of the MeeGo Handset user experience project. Many of you will remember this "Day 1" concept from March, when we first made the MeeGo core OS source code available and started development towards the MeeGo 1.0 release. Today, the handset baseline source code is available to the development community. This code is being actively developed as MeeGo 1.1, which is scheduled for release in October. The team has been preparing MeeGo Gitorious with all the sources and infrastructure to perform the weekly builds for MeeGo 1.1 development. The MeeGo UI team has also been busy creating the handset reference user experience and preparing theMeeGo UI design principles and interaction guidelines

This milestone marks the completion of the merger of Moblin and Maemo as major architecture decisions and technical selections have been determined. Today, we are also opening the MeeGo Build Infrastructure.

The MeeGo Project Handset Day 1 includes:

· MeeGo APIs, incorporating Qt and MeeGo Touch UI Framework (MTF)

· Subset of the handset reference UI and applications

o Status Bar: clock, network, Bluetooth, 3G connection, notifications, and battery charge

o Home Screen

o Lock Screen

o Application Launcher

o Virtual Keyboard

o Applications: Dialer, SMS, Browser, Contacts, and Photo Viewer

· MeeGo Core OS (including the middleware components)

· Hardware adaptation support for Intel Atom-based handset (Moorestown) and ARM-based Nokia N900

Scope of MeeGo

"Our vision for seamlessly communicating between computing devices from the home, auto, office or your pocket is taking a big step forward today with the introduction of MeeGo," said Intel President and CEO Paul Otellini. "This is a foundational step in our evolving relationship with Nokia. The merging of these two important assets into an open source platform is critical toward providing a terrific experience across a variety of devices and gaining cross- industry support."

"MeeGo will drive an even wider range of Internet computing and communication experiences for consumers, on new types of mobile devices," said Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, CEO, and Nokia. "Through open innovation, MeeGo will create an ecosystem that is second to none, drawing in players from different industries. It will support a range of business models across the value chain, building on the experience and expertise of Nokia, Intel and all those who will join us. Simply put MeeGo heralds a new era of mobile computing."

MeeGo blends the best of Maemo with the best of Moblin to create an open platform for multiple processor architectures. MeeGo builds on the capabilities of the Moblin core OS and its support for a wide range of device types and reference user experiences, combined with the momentum of Maemo in the mobile industry and the broadly adopted Qt application and UI framework for software developers.

MeeGo also unites the robust worldwide Maemo and Moblin applications ecosystems and open source communities. For developers, MeeGo extends the range of target device segments for their applications. Using Qt for application development means that they can write applications once and easily deploy them on MeeGo and across other platforms, for example, on Symbian.

The Ovi Store will be the channel to market for apps and content for all Nokia devices, including MeeGo and Symbian-based, with Forum Nokia providing developer support across all Nokia device platforms. The Intel AppUpSM Center will be the path to market for Intel-based MeeGo devices

xfrom other device manufacturers, with the Intel® Atom™ Developer Program providing support for applications targeting devices in a variety of categories.

The MeeGo software platform, running on high-performance devices, will deliver a range of Internet, computing and communication experiences, with visually rich graphics, multitasking and multimedia capabilities and the best application performance. Since MeeGo runs on multiple device types, people can keep their favorite applications when they change devices, so they are not locked into one kind of device or those from any individual manufacturer.

9/11 attacks cause or consequences

MY AWARD WINNING DEBATE

A very Goodmorning to all present here I am Barleen kaur

Five years on, everyone has a theory about the real causes of 9/11. They range from the nutty (it was the US government) to the plausible but flawed (a response to foreign occupation) to the credible (collateral damage from a clash within Islam). but yet there is something left which is huge and that is the unmasterable effect of this catastrophe that makes me stand hereand say that yes 9/11 is not consequence it is a cause to jolt the administration of nations, bewilder the people to leave unretrievable impacts on the lives of people.

I have four locks that would make my point more clear

Lock of health

lock of economy

and other lock that is the lock of unity

the master lock-lock of terrorism

The attacks had a significant economic impact on the United States and world markets. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), and NASDAQ did not open on September 11 and remained closed until September 17. When the stock markets reopened, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) stock market index fell 684 points, or 7.1%, to 8921, a record-setting one-day point decline. Consequence events in 2008 brought the disastrous bankruptcy of the banks posing recession that locked the economies of the world. Yet my worthy opponents have no keys to open this lock as they are crying over the foul past nugging attacks to be the consequence of us conspiracy.

With more than 1 million people injured and dies in attack there was much more to add to the misery. Not only the spread of anthrax a chemical disaster that rose from the debris of the place causing asthma, cancers made a huge imprint of bad physical health.

Evacuations of large buildings in major cities around the nation started soon after the towers in New York started crumbling. This clearly helped to bolster the psychological impact of the attack maing people tensed and worried.

Similar effects were created by the discrimination against the Sikhs and the Muslims that have settled in states. There were acts of vandalism and brutual extorment of the people, questioning that led not in decline of such cynical acts but definitely an increase in it. Moreover resentment amongst people maligned the brotherhood.

Locking the health of the people physically socially and mentally.

In retrospect, the Millennium marked only a moment in time. It was the events of September 11 that marked a turning point in history, where we confront the dangers of the future and assess the choices facing humankind. It was a tragedy. An act of evil. From this nation, goes our deepest sympathy and prayers for the victims and our profound solidarity with the American people. We were with you at the first. We will stay with you to the last.

There is another lock of unity that all nations as this that was united to voice against the terrorism. but impact of it was short lived due to forseeing discrimination in the states.

Last but not the least comes my master lock the lock of war……..

United nations after the attacks was boiling to revenge the attack thus bush and tony blairs united forces brought up the 2003 debacle of Iraq war. Under the namesake of war for freedom 3 million people were brutually killed and whole of Iraq was turned upside down. Under former president bush there was a worldwide dominancy exhibited by America. As the super nation did what it want fulfilling its aim to control the oil fields…..and fnally the blood shed let it win for what the 9/11 attacks were made…..as they say hold the ear this way or that way work shall be served.

Before I rest my motion I have something to quote…..

“ Bleeding piece of earth spreads its arms pray to the authorities what has happened has happened why do u restore my children even more to my arms, why am I getting soiled by bloodshed, please relieve my agony and lend me peace so that I can soothe who rest on me”

In nutshell what has happened has happened than discussing the past effects to term attacks as consequence we need to cure what it makes the cause of several events.

Thank you

THE ART OF PERSUASION

Posted by Barleen at 10:21 AM 1 comments
Many of the Colosseum of the world couldn't have mastered this art of brilliance..our politicians and masters excel in this dominion. But ordinary girl like me find it million times difficult.Well hats off to the brilliant stupendous sales person who exhibit indomitable art through varied degrees of tolerance and channelising the same to success.I remember the honest ,calm composure of Rocket Singh, the brains he applied to curb a whooping persuasion to his employees..II wish i had that persuasion.from the art of bargaining one or two stuff in the janpath market Or leading your team as per your brilliance one art that is utmost required is persuade. The television industry rules simply because of one reason it persuades us to buy and invest on what it offers us.So live a life long with the turbulence of opportunities but do master a life that hep you live a life long with the magnificence over nothing but only persuasion.

If you are an engineer you are the not the master
If you are a manager, politician or marketing executive you are definitely a master........

Love demands wat???

Posted by Barleen at 10:45 AM 0 comments
Through an age old tradition love is defined as a way to understand ,be compassionate ,tolerable and forgiving. It is selfless and demands nothing it only requires a mutual understanding. But has this closure changed and have we succumbed ourselves to opposite definition of love that is commitment...a new joke..there are two type of people

one are happy and

the other are

committed

as the world changes the situations are changing as well as the way of defining things...trying to adjust with this pattern of life lets get into this commitment..and thank god i have commitment with my life and work only ..free from those expectations of love..its selfish demeanour and passion...

Endeavour

Posted by Barleen at 1:54 PM 2 comments

When I walk a mile I am tired

I see the milestone still forty miles to go

I feel desperate in my heart

Shall I make it or shall I not

My destiny lies far off

The road is dry dusty and hot

The heat is wrecking my spirit

Still I carry on wondering shall I or shall I not?

Will I reach the garden of bliss?

Will I get it or will I miss?

My spirit is drooping with the sun.

But I know I will rise again.

Somewhere beyond the horizon

And filled with hope that one day

I shall reach that garden of bliss and joy

And repeat the reward of hard toil
